Hotel Belvedere Bellagio

Bellagio, Lake Como | Giulia Jannello

Overlooking the bay of Pescallo and just steps from the center of Bellagio, Hotel Belvedere is a historic property founded in 1880 and run by the same family for five generations. Boasting a strong female legacy, and now led by Giulia Martinelli-Manoni, the hotel upholds a philosophy of authentic hospitality, where regional tradition blends with contemporary aesthetics to offer an experience of understated tranquility. The recent interior redesign, helmed by interior designer Giulia Jannello, has redefined the property’s visual identity. In collaboration with the Swiss branding agency FERUS, the project developed a modern interpretation of Italian culture, aiming to innovate without erasing the family’s historical imprint.

This approach is evident in the rooms and suites through a curated selection of materials: bathrooms are enhanced by fine marble, while custom-made wooden furniture from local artisans creates a dialogue with dark wood paneling. The color palette is dominated by cream-toned fabrics, paired with upholstered pieces in shades of blue and green—a chromatic nod to the colors of the lake. Beyond the private areas, the redesign extends to the common spaces, such as the Albòri gourmet restaurant and the sprawling 4,000-square-meter terraced garden. The result is a cohesive environment where design is not merely a decorative element but a tool to harmonize architecture, landscape, and history, fostering a continuous dialogue between the interiors and the natural setting of Lake Como.
