The geometry of conviviality

An elegant linearity defines the entire OBA system by Dieffebi, which, thanks to its extensive modularity, gives rise to 20 different solutions for homes, offices, and public spaces

Dieffebi places conviviality at the heart of its design philosophy. The company has created a collection of tables around which living revolves, both at home and in the office, as well as in public spaces. The table is interpreted as the focal point of rediscovered social interaction, a place for meetings, productivity, and relationships. To bring this concept to life, the company, in collaboration with Altherr Désile Park studio, developed a modular system that seamlessly integrates into diverse furnishing contexts, thanks to its sophisticated simplicity and a pure, familiar, and sensory linearity.

In this collection, Dieffebi has distilled its entire design vision – the fruit of over 50 years of experience in the design sector. This vision encompasses a human-centered approach, the principle of modularity and flexibility in design, and a versatile style that responds to the evolution of increasingly fluid and hybrid work environments, as well as changes in social behavior and new ways of working.

The OBA collection embodies all of this: not merely furniture, but spaces where well-being, relationships, and identity coexist in harmony. The collection’s architecture combines a wide range of shapes and sizes to create 20 different tables in terms of dimensions and functions, complemented by countless possible chromatic and material configurations. This results in meeting tables, dining tables, high tables, and lounge tables for residential, work, or hospitality spaces, each adding character to any environment.

This is also thanks to a linear, warm, and essential aesthetic. The collection is founded on a rigorous compositional principle that employs elementary geometries – the circle, triangle, square, rectangle, and oval – in every element, from the tabletops to the cylindrical legs, and even the orthogonal triangular elements that reinforce the underframe crossbars (a device to enhance stability and load distribution).

A distinctive accent of OBA is the intersection between the tabletop and the leg, deliberately left exposed, made possible by a structural joint that ensures stability and formal lightness. The tabletops thus rest centrally on the cylindrical leg, overlapping only partially – an aesthetic detail that, in round and oval tops, creates a more fluid design, softened by curved lines.

The extensive range of compositions encompasses four tabletop shapes (rectangular, square, oval, and round) and three heights: 75 cm, for work and lifestyle; 100 cm, ideal for more dynamic and informal solutions; and 35 cm, designed for lounge and living areas. For meeting tables exceeding 300 cm, a third central leg allows for the joining of two tops while maintaining unwavering stability. Equally varied is the palette of colors and materials: the metal frame pairs with solid wood or painted metal legs, and with oak or melamine tops. These elements are further emphasized by the extensive chromatic palette, allowing for the combination of different colors between the frame, legs, and top for extreme personalization.
