Nomadic design

Design follows us; as we move, it moves with us. We simply can't be without it!

Some can be disassembled, others have wheels, some feature a convenient handle or a carabiner, and still others are simply lightweight. The strategies for making design portable and nomadic are numerous, all sharing a single, important goal: to allow side tables, chairs, loungers, lamps, or speakers to follow us and meet all our needs, wherever we may be.

Portable, robust, and ready to accompany you, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound Explore (on cover) speaker guarantees uncompromising sound quality. Within its scratch-resistant anodized aluminum shell, a vertical ribbed structure protects against impacts. The rubberized base keeps the speaker stable on most surfaces, and the integrated carabiner allows you to attach it to your bag or clip it to your belt.

Evoking the long neck of a stork, the Cicognino side table by Franco Albini – part of the Cassina iMaestri Collection – features a round top supported by three slender rods that form a delicate framework. The main rod, shaped like a stick, directly recalls the bird’s neck, with the handle further suggesting its beak. The lower part of the tray acts as a structural node and connection for the entire element, all designed to ensure perfect balance.

Davide Biancucci, a Milanese designer born in 1991, designed the Mehari for Campeggi, a safari chair conceived for easy disassembly and transport. Its structure is made of treated and varnished ash wood, with a canvas cover. Thanks to a simple rotation of the seat, it opens and closes with ease.

Inspired by the principles of good design, the Calipso loungers by Antonio Citterio for Flexform stand out for their clean and essential aesthetic. The structure is made of painted metal, while the seat and backrest are crafted from hand-woven polypropylene rope. Calipso features a functional mechanism that allows the backrest to be reclined. A version with rear wheels made of die-cast aluminum is also available, making it easier to move.

Fritz Hansen presents the Clam™ Portable lamp, designed by Ahm & Lund studio for both indoor and outdoor environments. Its intuitive design features an easy-to-use touch control for on/off functions, located at the apex of the dome, which also adjusts the three dimming levels. Made from polycarbonate and durable steel, it is available in three monochromatic shades: White, Grey Nove, and Twilight Blue.
