Maison&Objet 2025: a house for all

From September 4–8, Maison&Objet opened in Paris with a renewed edition: six reorganized sectors for a more intuitive experience and an artistic direction by Amélie Pichard. With Welcome Home, the designer imagined an open, inclusive house where design became a shared stage

Maison&Objet returned to Paris from September 4–8, with an edition that marked a turning point. The international fair dedicated to design and the art of living presented a clearer, more fluid format designed to give visitors immediate insight into the trends shaping today’s market.

The most significant change is the division into six sectors: Cook & Share, dedicated to gastronomy and the art of entertaining; Decor & Design, featuring Studio Signature and the Design District, an incubator for emerging talent; Craft, celebrating artisanal know-how; Fragrance & Wellness, centred on scents and holistic rituals; Fashion & Accessories, blending style and design; and Gift & Play, exploring the culture of giving and childhood.

Alongside this new structure, the fair entrusts its artistic direction to Amélie Pichard, an unconventional designer who brings a joyfully undisciplined vision with Welcome Home. In Hall 6, she has imagined a house open to all, inhabited by objects-actors performing like characters on a stage free of disciplinary borders.

At its heart is a teapot-house, created by ceramicist Blumen with the support of an artificial intelligence: a suspended piece that embodies the dialogue between craftsmanship and technology, imagination and materiality. Each room is shaped by different brands and creators: from Policronica’s wooden sculpture to Airborne’s iconic armchair, from Trône’s provocative toilet to a statue on loan from the Musée Rodin, bridging heritage and contemporaneity.

Guided by the motto “An Open House – Open to All,” Pichard’s installation embraces accidents and encounters, making design accessible and alive. A scenography that reflects the fair’s spirit: a laboratory of ideas, a crossroads of creativity, and a mirror of our times.

By combining a streamlined six-sector layout with Pichard’s visionary direction, the September edition reaffirms Maison&Objet’s ambition: not just to showcase objects, but to create a cultural and collective experience open to the future.
