Fleur de Soie conquers Dubai

Sahrai Milano brought its collection, created in collaboration with French interior designer Sybille de Margerie, to Dubai

Sybille is guided by a very specific philosophy: “Be creative with simplicity.” Her signature style lies in her ability to “make the traditional contemporary,” breathing new life into classic elements through a contemporary and innovative approach. Skilled at integrating technology into environments and making it ‘attractive,’ Sybille creates spaces where functionality and aesthetics coexist harmoniously. A distinctive feature of her work is the use of elegant colors, which help to define refined and welcoming atmospheres.

Sahrai Milano, a leading name in luxury rugs, both antique and contemporary, proudly announces its new collaboration with French interior designer Sybille de Margerie. Sybille’s design philosophy is rooted in “being creative with simplicity,” and her signature style lies in her ability to modernize classic elements, breathing new life into them through a contemporary and innovative approach.

Skilled at seamlessly integrating technology into interiors, Sybille crafts spaces where functionality and aesthetics exist in perfect harmony. A distinctive element of her work is her use of elegant colors, which contribute to defining refined and inviting atmospheres.

It’s precisely this unique approach, combined with Sahrai Milano’s expertise as the heir to a long tradition of fine rug making, that has given rise to “Fleur de Soie,” a capsule collection that explores the elegance of French style, reimagined with a modern twist.
The collection revisits two classic motifs of the French rug tradition: damask and the peony.

The peony, a particular favorite of Sybille, takes center stage alongside the damask pattern. The collection features a contemporary palette that pairs timeless shades like ivory with more vibrant colors, including aqua, jade, and orange. It’s the bold shift in scale that truly sets this collection apart.

As the designer herself explains, «The fact that we chose to use the flower in such an oversized way completely changes the spirit of the project», revealing how, within this collection, playing with the dimensions of the floral motifs creates a striking visual impact.

Handcrafted in Sahrai’s ateliers using both time-honored and modern techniques, these rugs combine noble fibers like silk and fine wool, carefully selected for their luster, softness, and durability, resulting in refined, alluring, and versatile creations.
