A stylish debut

Marca Corona participates for the first time in Downtown Design Dubai, showcasing its centuries-old expertise in the new Scultorea Delicata collection

Marca Corona has its roots in centuries of history, ancient techniques and expertise drawn from tradition. This connection with the local area and its artisan expertise has given rise to a deep-rooted, authentic identity that is nonetheless capable of communicating with the contemporary world. It is this balance between memory and innovation that shapes the company’s growth, reflected in its collections and the continuous evolution of the design that defines its style. Marca Corona recounts its distinctive philosophy at Downtown Design Dubai, the Middle East’s leading contemporary design event, running from 5 to 9 November.

This is a real debut for the company, taking place as part of the ICE Collective – Ceramics of Italy in the Italian Pavilion, which highlights the brand’s international growth and its ability to engage the international design and architecture community.

This vision is reflected in the new Scultorea Delicata collection, which takes centre stage alongside the new 2025 products. Part of the range of surfaces inspired by marble and stone, Scultorea Delicata embodies a refined balance between elegance and authentic material texture: it enhances light and delicate varieties, among the most original in Italy, combined with exotic references that blend naturally into architectural contexts of different stylistic origins.

n particular, the focus is on the TravertinoBianco e Dorato variant, inspired by cut travertine, which, in its porous structure, varies in colour from milky white to walnut, with shades ranging from yellow to red to grey. The surfaces thus create a natural and timeless effect, reinterpreted with contemporary sensitivity thanks to the Velvet and Textured finishes, which expand their design potential to include outdoor spaces: Velvet, soft to the touch and finely polished, reflects light delicately, giving the graphics body and artfully interpreting the nuances of marble; while the Textured finish, grainy and marked, guarantees solidity, comfort and stylistic continuity between indoor and outdoor environments, allowing surfaces to live en plein air (applied to Travertine in 60×120 cm format with a thickness of 20 mm).

Another distinctive feature of the collection is the wide variety of sizes: the large 120×278 cm slab is ideal for covering interior walls with continuity, minimising joints; the large 120×120 cm square format is suitable for laying on large interior floors and for covering walls, with a minimised joint effect. Different patterns can be obtained by orienting the graphics in the same direction or by crossing them horizontally and vertically between one module and another. Furthermore, the 60×120 cm rectangular slab is recommended for covering floors and walls, taking advantage of its slender shape: it makes the space more dynamic and allows you to play with the layout, even at boiserie height. Finally, there are mosaic-effect decorations made from 30×30 cm tiles cut from the slabs. The result is a modern and sensory collection that interprets every project, from interiors to architecture, with freedom and character.
