The sky in a pleat

Pleats Please Issey Miyake opens its first pop-up store in Milan. From September 10th at 10 Corso Como, an immersive installation will unveil the new "Azure Colors" series, a tribute to the hues of the sky and the lightness of movement

Pleats Please Issey Miyake arrives in Milan with its first-ever pop-up store, a temporary space that will take over 10 Corso Como from September 10th to October 11th, 2026. The opening celebrates the launch of the new “Azure Colors” series and offers the public a unique opportunity to connect with the brand’s distinctive universe, where innovative pleating techniques, freedom of movement, and a vibrant approach to color merge into garments designed for contemporary daily life. Conceived as an immersive environment, the pop-up draws inspiration from the sky and its continuous transformations. Shades of blue, a sense of lightness, and the delicate movement of clouds are translated into a three-dimensional installation, creating a space that seems to float between color, light, and air, inviting visitors to discover the essence of the brand.

The centerpiece of the project is “Azure Colors,” a special series developed in six shades of blue. Inspired by the subtle chromatic shifts of the sky, the collection ranges from the softest hues of pale white and light blue to the intensity of deep blue and navy. This color gradation unfolds across a selection of tops, dresses, skirts, pants, and stoles. As the iconic pleats fill with air and follow the body’s movements, the garments evoke the serenity of an ever-changing sky. Characterized by essential silhouettes and an almost impalpable lightness, they can be worn individually or combined in different shades, creating personal and playful chromatic compositions. Through the dialogue between the collection and the spatial installation, the Milan pop-up becomes an invitation to rediscover the color, movement, and lightness that form the soul of Pleats Please Issey Miyake.
