Training with style: five design projects redefining fitness and wellness

From open-air training to integrated home wellness solutions, design becomes a tool to rethink the relationship between body and space. Materials, technology, and formal research give rise to hybrid devices, where exercise, comfort, and beauty coexist naturally.

Elite‘s Fuoripista (on cover) is a home wellness bike designed by Adriano Design. This stationary indoor cycling bike, crafted from wood, glass, and steel, stands as a true sculptural element capable of furnishing spaces. It offers personalized and interactive programs: users can follow real or virtual routes and GPS itineraries, train with a virtual coach, or connect to the community, exercising online with other users.

Ethimo and Studio Adolini design an open-air fitness room, conceived for training and mental relaxation. OUT-FIT (250 × 250 cm, height 280 cm) features no mechanical stations: it is made entirely of teak and metal with a rust finish and is equipped with a series of tools for bodyweight exercises, such as a boxing bag and a classic bench, upholstered in specific outdoor leather, as well as wooden gymnastic rings, an elastic band, and a m

Muista‘s Jojiko Chair is a backless office chair. Its form is minimalist and architectural: a visually light yet robust steel structure is paired with a delicately curved upholstered seat. The chair encourages micro-movements while sitting, allowing the body to sway back and forth or move sideways. By simply rotating it, the user can switch between two positions, each characterized by a different direction of movement and pressure distribution.
