Technogym takes center stage at Design Shanghai

The brand brings its latest Sand Stone collection to the Shanghai event, a hub for professionals in the Asian market and a meeting point between Western and Eastern design

Design Shanghai is the leading fair for the Asian market, with a fully international outlook. Since 2014, it has built a dialogue between Eastern design culture and the global design scene, bringing together different perspectives and creating a hub for exchange and networking that continues to grow. It is here that Technogym has chosen to present itself to the Chinese audience and unveil its latest collection dedicated to the wellness world. The company, a global leader in fitness, wellness, sport and health, will be a key player from March 19 to 22 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre: this historic venue hosted the debut of the fair, which now returns here with a renewed exhibition experience, featuring a more refined setup and an even more international selection of exhibitors spanning interior design in a transversal way – from furniture to lighting, from materials to lifestyle.

Technogym’s exhibition concept focuses on Sand Stone, the new collection that introduces a renewed aesthetic in terms of colors, finishes and inspiration. Sand Stone draws on the natural quality and warmth of Mediterranean sandstone to create a versatile and sophisticated palette, designed to blend seamlessly with premium wellness spaces. This new warm and enveloping palette harmonizes with materials such as wood, stone and metal that shape contemporary interiors across residential, hospitality and exclusive club environments.

he fitness area thus integrates with the surrounding interior, generating immersive environments through continuity of style and atmosphere. The distinctive identity of Sand Stone is expressed across a combination of cardio, strength and functional equipment: design and performance merge in the Technogym Checkup, Artis Cardio & Strength, Biostrength, Technogym Personal Tools and Technogym Reform lines. Each product strengthens the connection with nature, also thanks to the introduction of new materials and finishes applied to the collection. The upholstery, for example, is made from an innovative plastic material containing 2–3% natural mica, creating a textured effect reminiscent of real stone, and 30% recycled components, helping reduce the environmental impact of production cycles. This Speckled Stone finish is paired with details such as frames and inserts in Warm Titanium, a metallic titanium shade inspired by hi-tech objects.

The Clay finish characterizes surfaces in direct contact with the user, including handles and eco-leather seats: it is a warm, matte material, pleasant to the touch and designed to provide a natural, comfortable feel. Finally, the tactile materiality of beech and ash wood adds an organic note to Personal Tools and Technogym Reform. Together, these elements enhance the wellness experience and define the concept of an interior oriented towards wellbeing.
