The ingredients of light

The new iGuzzini Light Showroom in Recanati is a 1,480-square-meter space where the effects of light can be tangibly experienced

The iGuzzini headquarters area in Recanati is in constant evolution. While Mario Cucinella‘s expansion project in the late 90s already solidified the company’s commitment to high-quality, low-environmental-impact architecture, the 2022/23 “Lighthinking Space” by Alessandro Pedron – APML Architetti transformed the executive offices into an area for socializing, working, and sharing, open to the entire iGuzzini community. Today, with the new interior design project by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia and the lighting design by Artec Studio, it’s the turn of the Light Showroom.

In this new exhibition space concept, dedicated to visitors, clients, lighting designers, architects, interior designers, system integrators, and sustainability managers, one can tangibly experience the true integration of design, connectivity, and responsibility, and enjoy the personalized experience of “good light,” which ultimately creates well-being.

Light that defines and transforms spaces
The Showroom and the Light Theatre showcase iGuzzini systems through approximately 1,200 different lighting products, offering clients and professionals a concrete experience of light effects modulated across its diverse applications.

At the entrance – the foyer – the eye is immediately drawn to iGuzzini Echoes, the collection of re-editions of 70s icons by Italian design masters, updated in their light sources for energy efficiency. On display: Polsino by Gio Ponti, Nitia by Rodolfo Bonetto, Zurigo by Luigi Massoni, Clan and Sorella by Harvey, Cespuglio by Ennio Lucini.

From the foyer, visitors move directly into the Light Theatre, a 300-square-meter auditorium with 150 seats, which orchestrates 9 lighting effects – Invisible, Shape, Human, Graphic, Colour, Guiding, Spaciousness, Symmetric, and Vertical – literally illuminating up to 900 scenarios.

Delving into the subsequent 700 sqm of exhibition space, areas unfold into six application zones for lighting systems, categorized under Culture, Retail, Hospitality & Residential, Working, Urban, and Intelligent Light Solutions.

The common thread and overarching protagonist of the exhibition journey are the innovative solutions. These address sustainability and visual comfort, stemming from the research and development of engineered optics produced in-house by the company, where every detail enhances light.

The Outdoor Lab
iGuzzini systems suitable for illuminating urban areas, infrastructure, parks, building facades, and private residential gardens are displayed in the Outdoor Lab, a luminous gallery adjacent to the main building. Here, smart lighting solutions (smart products and smart controls) developed to calibrate light are highlighted. All of this, always and strictly with an eye towards optimizing energy consumption.
