Art and design in St. Moritz for NOMAD

International art and design galleries and renowned jewelers will gather at NOMAD St. Moritz, hosted at the exclusive Villa Beaulieu, from February 12 to 15

Now in its ninth edition, NOMAD St. Moritz has firmly established itself as a fixture on the city’s cultural scene. The upcoming edition, scheduled from February 12 to 15, will be hosted within an iconic St. Moritz landmark, the spectacular Villa Beaulieu (formerly Klinik Gut). This historic Engadine residence has been completely renovated and recently reopened as a boutique hotel overlooking Lake St. Moritz and the Alps, dedicating some of its spaces to cultural events, as well as pop-ups and shops. Reinterpreted in a way that blends history and contemporaneity, Villa Beaulieu embodies NOMAD’s new chapter, which similarly combines continuity and innovation.

The platform dedicated to collectible design, contemporary art, and cultural dialogue (co-founded and directed by Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte) is indeed refreshing its offerings by bringing new voices alongside renowned international galleries and prestigious jewelers. A special group of emerging talents will be featured, including Margherita Castiglioni (Milan) and Sorgin Gallery (San Sebastián). Their presentation will juxtapose furniture by masters of Brazilian modernism, such as Joaquim Tenreiro and José Zanine Caldas, with the playful creations of contemporary artists like Adeline Halot, Joseba Lekuona, and Eduardo Chillida.

Alongside them will be leading authorities in contemporary art and design, including Nilufar, Pierre Marie Giraud, Craftica Gallery, and also von Bartha and Monica De Cardenas. The setting will be further enriched by historical works by Fontana, Picasso, sculptures by Arnaldo Pomodoro, and two-dimensional creations by Paul Jenkins, among many others. Concluding the array of novelties is a special project created in collaboration with Armani, curated by Abby Bangser (founder of Object & Thing and former Artistic Director of Frieze Art Fairs), which stages a stimulating and reflective dialogue between two contemporary artists and the world of Armani/Casa.
