Isola Space opens in Dubai

Isola inaugurates its first physical space in Dubai with a group exhibition and two exhibitions in the Dubai Design District

It is called Isola Space and is the first physical space created by Isola Design Group, which has chosen the city of Dubai (and Dubai Design Week) for its international debut. Conceived as a dynamic, hybrid destination, Isola Space brings together an exhibition gallery, a design store, a café, workspaces and event venues. The space – designed by Elif Resitoglu, architect and creative director of Isola – is located at The Lana Promenade, Dorchester Collection, Dubai, just a few minutes from the Dubai Design District.

More than just a showroom, Isola Space is conceived as a hub for the international design community, with an extensive programme of exhibitions, workshops, presentations and immersive collaborative design experiences. «It will be a place where our community can meet, share ideas and help shape the future of design, but also a source of inspiration for the whole Middle East, from enthusiasts to collectors, looking for new experiences and perspectives», says Gabriele Cavallaro, CEO of Isola Design Group. The project includes three new collaborations, designed by Isola and created in collaboration with Grob Design, Iconico and Obliq, and partnerships with design brands such as Alpi, Arper, B&T and Ton.

The collective exhibition “Icons of Tomorrow” accompanies the opening of the space (on display until 6 December): a curated selection of products, collectibles and unique works by international designers who are shaping the future of contemporary design. The exhibition brings together creatives from Mexico, Poland, Italy, South Korea, Belgium and many other countries. Isola is also expanding its presence in the city with two further exhibitions within the Dubai Design District: “Heart, Head, Hand” at Double J Collective and “Living Forms” at the Sevil Dolmacı Gallery.
