BGF45: the high-performance evolution of sustainability

Bluegame presents the new BGF45 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. In a world premiere, the 45-foot model from the BGF range combines comfort and performance with reduced environmental impact

In a world premiere, the new BGF45 makes its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This is Bluegame‘s latest multihull model, which aims to revolutionize the sector thanks to a perfect balance of performance and sustainability. These are the values that have always defined the brand—part of the Sanlorenzo Group since 2018—which has made innovation its hallmark. The new BGF45 is no exception, a 45-foot boat designed to offer excellent performance with a reduced environmental impact. The new BGF45 launches the BGF line, representing Bluegame’s latest evolution in the multihull segment and continuing the pioneering spirit that shaped the previous BGH-HSV, the world’s first hydrogen-powered chase boat with foils, capable of reaching 50 knots with zero emissions. presented at the 37th America’s Cup alongside American Magic and Orient Express Racing Team, the Bluegame BGH-HSV (Hydrogen Support Vessel) is powered exclusively by hydrogen, therefore with zero emissions, and has a range of 180 miles.

Drawing on the experience and know-how gained here, Bluegame has given impetus to the BGF line, marking an important milestone in terms of sustainable technology, not only for Bluegame and the Sanlorenzo Group, pioneers in the sector on the path to carbon neutrality, but for the entire recreational boating industry.

BGF45

In fact, the shipyard is no stranger to innovations capable of revolutionizing the sector, as in the case of the BGM line and the first luxury multihull in the history of luxury yachting. BGF45 is therefore a natural part of a continuous process of research, design, advanced engineering, and technology.

Once again, the collaboration with Mario Caponnetto and Francis Hueber, renowned experts in hydrodynamics, has been fundamental: they had already worked alongside the Bluegame team on the BGH-HSV project and are now once again contributing their expertise to the BGF45, helping to perfect the hull design and pushing its performance to new levels. The 45-footer is designed to deliver excellent performance with a particular focus on the environment. The foil-assisted system, positioned between the hulls, significantly reduces drag, increasing speed, stability, and fuel efficiency by over 40%. Powered by two Volvo Penta IPS engines, the BGF45 guarantees unparalleled sailing comfort, even at speeds exceeding 30 knots, offering smooth handling and effortless maneuverability.

Strategic partnerships with various industry leaders make this performance possible, and exclusive collaborations include Volvo, Garmin, and Siemens-Innovative Technology Partner. Thanks to the synergy between Luca Santella, Head of Product Strategy at Bluegame, and Zuccon International Project, the result is a design that is not only aesthetically elegant and appealing, but also capable of making the most of the multihull’s spacious volumes.

Below deck, the open layout includes two cabins and a third multipurpose room. Outside, large sunbathing areas and a refined beach area enhance the open-air lifestyle on board. Versatility, innovation, and Italian excellence: this is the new BGF45, the perfect synthesis of Bluegame’s vision.
