Decorative architectures

The new Archi system by ADL, designed by Giovanni Battista Gianola, creates dynamic compositions in the interior, adding character and personality through geometric patterns and novel colors

There’s a new way to live and interpret spaces: it’s called Archi, the latest creation by Giovanni Battista Gianola for ADL. It’s not just a system that separates, contains, and organizes environments; it’s also a style element that adds character and personality. Archi arises from the meeting of two seemingly distant worlds: the architectural precision of systems and the refinement of decorative detail. The new ADL system – a Boffi|De Padova Group brand specializing in opening and closing systems for connecting interior spaces – combines functionality and design through a light graphic sign that becomes the distinctive feature of the entire project: the shape of the circle inscribed in very thin aluminum perimeters that constitute the frames of the glass panels.

Giovanni Battista Gianola draws inspiration for this graphic from the idea of space itself and how it is conceived on both a small and macro scale. On one hand, there is three-dimensional architecture, consisting of simple linear geometries, cubic volumes defined by flat surfaces and right angles; on the other, there is a more extensive, cosmic and atomic vision, which refers to a spherical shape, and the circle is its two-dimensional representation.

By overlapping these two concepts, Archi takes shape in three different representations of the relationship between the circle and the geometry of the connection element: tangent to the horizontal lines, to the vertical lines, or detached from the lines. Each composition can be interpreted with one or more circles based on the number of panels and the design that you want to bring into the living space. These patterns come to life on large domestic backdrops that slide elegantly in the spaces, adapting naturally to the interior design and the needs of daily life.

This is thanks to the different types of openings available: from the classic sliding or with synchronized movement – where the panels slide lightly on telescopic tracks, guaranteeing a clean and minimal aesthetic – to the pivot-and-slide solution, which rotates on its own axis and slides to the wall without the need for any floor track, with panels that can reach up to 130 cm in width. Up to the pivot opening without a jamb: an innovative system without predispositions on the ceiling or on the ground where the door moves in both directions thanks to hinges integrated into the frame profile. Archi thus establishes itself as a dynamic, elegant, and multifaceted system, capable of enhancing both modern environments and more classic contexts. A design with attention to the smallest details, which finds its maximum expression in the variety of finishes and colors available.

Made of aluminum and available in the ADL catalog finishes, the system is completed with exclusive glass made in five new shades with delicate nuances: Powder Pink, Tulip Yellow, Water Green, Sky Blue, and Infinite White. These colors not only give character and personality to the rooms, but also create a subtle opacity that emphasizes the circular shape, making it the protagonist or an elegant passe-partout that invites the eye to look further.
