Marazzi: the multiform face of ceramics

The concept of Poliedrica, the project curated by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel for the company's Milan showroom, summarises in its name the rich facets of the work presented at the recent Milan Design week 2025

The reconfiguration of the showroom space in Via Borgogna, Milan, represents just one of the novelties presented by Marazzi, international leader in design and production of ceramic and stoneware tiles. Curated by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the Poliedrica concept unravels into a contemporary, warm and welcoming living room in which ceramic is not only the protagonist, but its application potential pushed to the limit generates three-dimensional, pleated, cut, bevelled, jointed surfaces. A sophisticated final effect that recalls craftsmanship and shows all the transforming ability of a material capable of innovative and unexpected solutions and of dressing modern environments in an unconventional way.

In the exhibition route, the working area introduces a novelty: an open kitchen that hybridises functions and languages, mixing conviviality and operativity. This space is created with the new large Silver Root White and Slow Calce slabs, which emphasise details and depth. The aesthetic potential of these surfaces is amplified by 3D Ink digital technology.

The latter, thanks to the perfect match between 3D graphics and structures that maximizes detail and three-dimensionality, amplifies the aesthetic and sensory value of the ceramic material, taking the tactile and visual experience to a higher level and opening new frontiers in interior design. The kitchen thus becomes a flexible environment where conviviality is combined with operability. The privé, made of high glossy brick backsplashes, suggests an intimate retreat adaptable to different usage scenarios.

Digital processing also touches on the special project A new AI Generation Marble, born of the creative synergy between Marazzi, ACPV ARCHITECTS and Reply, an international network of companies highly specialised in different technological fields and market sectors.

The design of these innovative ceramics is generated through Artificial Intelligence algorithms, combining organic uniqueness̀ with technological precision. Inspired by principles of biomimesis, the motifs reproduce marbles on a large scale while maintaining impressive realistic effectiveness, applicable on large architectural surfaces, even up to 3.2 meters in height.

For Patricia Viel, CEO and Co-founder of ACPV ARCHITECTS, «This project is an example of how artificial intelligence, fuelled and guided by architectural vision, can amplify human creativity and redefine production processes. The ceramic surfaces resulting from this collaboration are not mere claddings, but unprecedented marbles, where technology and design sensitivity come together».
