When nature becomes design

ONDA, Febal Casa’s new collection designed in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects, combines aesthetic research and production capacity in a proposal with fluid, contemporary forms inspired by the flow of the sea

Recreating the subtle beauty of nature: this is the stylistic hallmark of the new Onda collection by Febal Casa, the result of the collaboration between the Colombini Group brand and Zaha Hadid Architects. The starting point of the project is the ancestral force that moves the sea – in particular the waves of the Adriatic Riviera, so close to the Group’s headquarters, the Republic of San Marino – shaping the coastline and tracing ever-changing geometries. These are the same geometries that characterize the elements of the collection, where space, light and matter come together in a dynamic balance: the glass surfaces, crossed by waves of light, evoke the depth of the water and its changing reflections, offering an aesthetic in constant transformation.

The Onda island, conceived as the heart of the kitchen, is available in variable lengths up to 360 cm and can be equipped with a hob, extractor hood and sink, as well as modules that can be fitted with drawers, baskets and inner baskets. The opening system of the hinged doors can be configured with groove or push-pull.

The aluminium frame, available in black or champagne finishes, surrounds back-lacquered doors in cast glass with metal effect, available in Metal Onda, Metal Bronzo Onda, Metal Champagne Onda and Metal Iridio Onda finishes. Finally, the worktop and side panels can be customized by choosing from all the finishes and materials in the top range.

The Onda sideboard has a well-balanced structure with harmonious proportions: the frame, in black or champagne lacquered aluminium, houses the back-lacquered cast glass front with metal effect, available in the same finishes as the island, while the internal structure is designed to enhance the brightness of the storage space thanks to the extra-clear glass shelves.

«Febal Casa’s strength lies in its ability to transform a design vision into a competitive product on the global market. The real value of Onda is not only in its form, but in the process that has allowed us to optimize it, industrialize it and make it accessible without compromising on quality. Design is a key element in positioning ourselves in an ever-changing market, and this collection demonstrates our ability to anticipate the needs of consumers and professionals in the sector.», says Giovanni Battista Vacchi, CEO of the Colombini Group. This collection therefore marks a new chapter for Febal Casa, combining aesthetic research with advanced production capacity, heritage and vision, the movement of nature and the innovation of design, to bring into the home not just furniture but real elements of architecture.
