Autumn in the city: 11 great designs to set the mood

At the end of autumn, nature is dressed in warm colors that fill the eye and warm up the atmosphere (even when the temperature drops). An inspiration that design loves to follow

It is a palette of reds, yellows and browns, earthy tones and muted oranges. These are the colors of autumn, warming the atmosphere in anticipation of the cold tones of the season to come. Directly evoking the “foliage” craze, the home is clothed in the tones of woodland landscapes, recreating enveloping and vibrant spaces. The play of materials, finishes, fabrics with an autumnal palette, furnishings and decorative objects bring a touch of nature into the home, from which to draw inspiration

Tappeto Cime by Saba, design Zanellato/Bortotto

This is the case of the Cime rug by Saba, designed by the Zanellato/Bortotto duo in natural and earthy shades of red. This collection, handmade in collaboration with the Mariantonia Urru workshop, is inspired in its design and colors by the sails used by fishermen’s families in the Venetian lagoon.

Tosca chairs by Midj

Tiered coffee table by Etro Home Interiors

Midj’s Tosca chairs play with color combinations between the frame and the seat and back, chosen from shades between mustard and brown.

The Tiered coffee table by Etro Home Interiors also has a deep golden hue, accentuated by the collection’s new lacquer; Tiered is then connoted by the two swivel drawers it hides, covered in soft ivory microfiber.

Origata console by Porro, design Nao Tamura

Vase from the Pesca capsule collection by Venini

The deep red of the Origata console, designed by Nao Tamura for Porro, is even more striking. Japanese inspiration in terms of color, but also in terms of design, inspired by the tradition of kimonos, in which the fabric is cut in straight lines and then sewn to avoid waste.

The amber tones, on the other hand, are the result of the skillful processing of the raw material by Venini’s master glassmakers, who, in the new Pesca capsule collection, breathe new life into the House’s most iconic vases with enveloping shades that evoke feelings of serenity, sweetness and harmony.

Tin metal storage container by Hay

Twergi nutcracker by Alessi, design Ettore Sottsass

Sweet colors (red and pink) and pop soul for the Tin container signed Hay, a versatile and functional element with a decorative touch.

A color combination that can also be found in the Twergi nutcracker, designed by Ettore Sottsass for Alessi, a re-edition of the ’93 original.

I Funghetti, silkscreen by Enzo Mari, reissued by Danese

Votive candleholder by &Tradition, design Anderssen & Voll

I Funghetti, designed by Enzo Mari for Danese in ’76, is a true homage to autumn. The company has reissued it this year to celebrate the author and to bring back to the walls of the home elements of flora and fauna that reconnect us with the magical world of nature.

Soft shapes, warm materials and muted tones bring to life &Tradition’s Votive candleholder (in brushed brass), which brings an enveloping light to any room. Design Anderssen & Voll.

Hortus monstera leaf sconce by Il Bronzetto

Babila XL armchair by Pedrali, design Odo Fioravanti

Foliage finds its ideal form in the Hortus monstera leaf sconce by Il Bronzetto.

Autumn is also evoked in the proposed finish of Pedrali’s iconic Babila XL armchair, a design by Odo Fioravanti that balances tradition and modernity.
