Experimenting in tradition

Amphora is the new brand dedicated to designer faucets, born from a young intuition rooted in a historic and familiar heritage

From the desire to bring back a family heritage, the Amphora brand, a new reality in the field of designer faucets, was born. Giving birth to this enterprise are the three siblings Rocco, Silvia and Fabio Ponsi, who have taken up the threads of the family’s long production tradition in the sector and declined it into the contemporary. The result is a bold and dynamic project, in which the new generation has brought its own young and modern vision with the goal of bringing lightness and style to the world of faucets. So the Ponsi brothers involved a well-known name in bathroom furnishings, the Adolini studio, with which they share vision and philosophy, marked by quality and a sense of measure. A studio where likewise generations meet in comparison and where Romano Adolini and Niccolò Adolini shape products and projects always balanced between historicity and innovation.

From this interesting four-handed work was born Amphora’s first collection, Reel. A wide proposal differentiated in type, consisting of progressive mixers, hot and cold water faucets, single lever mixers, thermostatic mixers, and complemented by showers and accessories with coordinated design. Form, function and matter are the design elements from which Reel comes to life. The design of the elements is minimal and pure, inspired by the perfection of the circle-geometry found in all products emphasized by a continuous vertical milling in the grip area that serves as a functional yet decorative detail.

Its extreme versatility is then amplified by the choice of raw material, 316 steel, the noblest of metal alloys: its properties-stainless, antibacterial, indestructible-allow Reel to be placed in the most varied contexts of use. The surfaces are then hand-brushed to impart a soft tactility and offer a multisensory experience. Or coated with PVD deposition in black and copper colors, so as to achieve a more elegant or retro effect.

Further strength of steel, it is also its being a sustainable material – a key value in Amphora’s production and one that is expressed not only in the choice of material, but even in the integrated technology in favor of water saving and a conscious and responsible use of water. On these principles is grafted the path taken by the brand to meet the new challenges of the industry, in terms of aesthetics and design, with a vision that transcends time and challenges conventions.
