Homo Faber opens

A journey through objects and stories curated by Luca Guadagnino

From September 1st to 30th, 2024, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice will host “Homo Faber. The Journey of Life”, the third edition of the international event celebrating contemporary craftsmanship.

Under the artistic direction of internationally renowned filmmaker Luca Guadagnino and architect Nicolò Rosmarini, the public is invited to embark on an exciting journey through the stages of life, following the theme “The Journey of Life”, conceived by Hanneli Rupert, Vice President of the Michelangelo Foundation.

Hundreds of unique objects, crafted by the hands of talented artisans from all over the world, will animate the monumental spaces of the Fondazione Cini. From childhood to travel, from love stories to dreams, every phase of human existence takes shape and meaning through craftsmanship and its highest expressions in a captivating and immersive exhibition.

And it doesn’t end there: thanks to “Homo Faber in Città” (Homo Faber in the City), the journey continues through the narrow streets and squares of Venice, discovering new itineraries that wind through the workshops of Venetian artisans. A unique opportunity to fully immerse oneself in the beating heart of craftsmanship, between tradition and innovation, and experience the fascinating world of artistic crafts from every angle.
