Poltrona Frau acquires KJ Ryan

The synergy between the historic Italian brand and the British company specialized in the production of luxury car interiors promises innovation, material quality and sustainability in an important sector

The acquisition of KJ Ryan by Poltrona Frau, the historic Italian design brand belonging to the Haworth Lifestyle group, opens a new chapter in the luxury car interiors sector and marks the brand’s expansion into the British market, one of the most important in the world for high-end cars. With an expected turnover of 120 million euros and three factories located between Italy and England, the new entity promises to be a European leader in the design and production of interiors for luxury vehicles, characterized by a balance between technological avant-garde, high quality materials and personalized designs.

The new entity also aims to ensure highly efficient service, faster lead times and more sustainable supply chains. KJ Ryan, a Coventry-based company renowned for its expertise in the design and manufacture of luxury car interiors, joins Poltrona Frau’s Interiors in Motion division, which is known for creating products that express excellence in leather and the highest quality and performance materials for the automotive, aviation, rail and marine sectors, capable of withstanding much higher wear and temperature stresses than those intended for domestic use.

In this sector, Poltrona Frau collaborates with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Ferretti Yachts and Riva. Kevin Ryan comments: “Joining forces with Poltrona Frau and Haworth Lifestyle makes me very confident that the skills, know-how and credibility I have built over 40 years of work in the sector have found the best possible platform to be nurtured and expanded in the future.” Ryan will continue to be part of the new enterprise in the future, playing an important role in its operations. Dario Rinero, CEO of Haworth Lifestyle, remarks: “I am pleased to see and support the ongoing growth of our Business Unit focusing on high-end automobiles. We believe KJ Ryan is well positioned to capitalize on continuous industry tailwind and we look forward to continuing this expansion and success story.”
