Presented in the exhibition Capsule Plaza during Fuorisalone 2024, Interzone is the new collaboration between the brand BD Barcelona and the Belgian design duo Muller Van Severen – Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen – composed of two series, Bridges and Pillow. For the Spanish brand, the studio has created a collection of cabinets and sofas that reworks the typical forms of furniture through simple architectural geometry, getting beyond function to become sculpture.

The collection is composed of two series: on the one hand, the furnishings of Bridges, on the other the Pillow sofas. The former resemble the building blocks used by kids: flexible cabinets of different heights, capable of taking on many different configurations. With intense, bright colors, the pieces are perfect for the office or the home, adding a sense of fun and nonchalance to any space, while offering a practical solution for storage and filing.

Progettato inizialmente da Muller Van Severen per KASSL Editions, i divani Pillow sono stati migliorati in un nuovo sistema modulare per BD Barcelona. Una proposta intelligente e versatile in cui la struttura (a uno, due o tre posti) viene vestita da cuscini indipendenti in pelle che possono essere combinati insieme. Il risultato è un design unico dalle forme originali e confortevoli, una serie modulare che permette di mischiare colori e creare il proprio stile. La collezione Interzone vuole rappresentare uno spazio a metà tra comfort e informalità, con colori ricchi e un design curato. La collaborazione esprime al meglio la progettualità che caratterizza sia il brand BD Barcelona che lo studio belga Muller Van Severen, svincolata dalle regole convenzionali del mercato.
Initially designed by Muller Van Severen for KASSL Editions, the Pillow sofas have been improved in a new modular system for BD Barcelona. An intelligent, versatile proposal in which the structure (for one, two or three seats) is covered with independent leather cushions for different combinations. The result is a unique design with original, comfortable forms, a modular series that permits mixing of colors and the creation of a precise, personal style. The Interzone collection occupies a space between comfort and informality, with vivid colors and refined design. The collaboration brings out the best in the brand BD Barcelona and the Belgian studio Muller Van Severen, in a situation of freedom from the conventional rules of the market.
