KDLN: technological innovation and decoration

From the new Bird collection to contract projects in the world’s biggest cities, the collections of KDNL incorporate the performance of light inside furnishings

Curiosity and attention to detail, a synthesis of light and matter, combining aesthetics and exceptional quality. Every particular of the production of KDLN narrates a specific philosophy: to make the spaces of living welcoming and functional, in both private and public contexts. Thanks to the brand’s extensive know-how light spreads to give form and character to any space, with the aim of creating avant-garde design solutions that generate a perfect combination of emotional experience and luminous quality. Every lamp, in fact, stems from a path of creativity and innovation in which the skillful use of material, relying on experience in the field of technical lighting design, lays the groundwork for the invention of contemporary, immediately recognizable products, shaping the identity of the brand itself. This is precisely the statement of intent behind the new Bird collection, a set of pieces with unique design and an essential silhouette, where clean geometric lines become an expression of freedom and movement.

A line of products in which the key word is flexibility, where the essence is conveyed by a slim metal shaft that supports a magnetic sphere with a built-in LED spot, elements that allow the lamp to be interpreted in three versions: table, suspension and reading. A multifunctional and dynamic proposal, embodying the lightness and sense of freedom suggested by the name of the collection.

The new year brings with it not only new creations, but also an opportunity to rethink successful items like the Kate lamp. This original model, inspired by the hat worn by the Duchess of Cambridge for the Jubilee, has now evolved with the presentation of the Kate Suspension. With an unconventional attitude, this new piece is based on a geometric cone thanks to which the light creates three-dimensional and perspective effects, for an unexpected and novel result. The product is further enhanced by the possibility of personalized finishes, including a modern version of gold leaf that transforms a classical precept into an experience of contemporary preciousness.

KDLN is thus a pure, simple representation of a cosmopolitan style. This is visually demonstrated in the countless projects implemented around the world, from Paris to Miami. Projects at the highest levels, like the Qatar Petroleum building in Doha, the Ministry of Economic Development in Rome, the Lexlcon Library and Cultural Centre in Dublin, all the way to the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. KDLN is the ability to look to the future through the narrative force of light, a synergy of different cultures, a creative hotbed in constant evolution.

This naturally leads to wide-ranging, dynamic and prioritized collaboration with designers such as Francesca Smiraglia and Jordi Pla, who have brought their visions into KDNL, respectively focusing on graphic lightness and contemporary pop style. These interactions generate original collections, where emotions and experiences join forces with responsible and sustainable production of the highest quality.
