Elegance and nature in Poliform's Outdoor collection

With the Ketch family of furniture designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, the Brianza-based brand, conquers the outdoor sector embracing a trend that has brought the living room into contact with the surrounding nature

In the last ten years, homes have gradually merged with the outside environment, bringing the living room into contact with the surrounding nature. The design industry has followed this trend, driving innovation and refining production techniques to create solutions suitable for change. Outdoor spaces now involve a wide range of contexts, from large gardens to urban terraces. This transformation represents more than a simple change of scenery: our perception of outdoor space has radically changed. The outdoor environment is now seen as a natural extension of the house, a place to be lived with a more relaxed approach. Poliform, a leading brand in the design furniture sector, has fully embraced this trend, shaping outdoor collections that express timeless elegance and innovation.

The Outdoor collection underlines the talent and vision of established designers such as Jean-Marie Massaud, Emmanuel Gallina, Marcel Wanders, and Soo Chan. Each of them has brilliantly interpreted the Poliform philosophy that defines a lifestyle based on the fluidity of space. Drawing inspiration from the links between the human being, nature and the landscape, Poliform’s Outdoor collection represents an interpretation of the contemporary lifestyle with an eye to aesthetics and refined design.

Among the proposals, Ketch is the collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, it is a perfect example of the interaction between natural and aesthetic elements. Inspired by the nautical world, Massaud creates a design marked by solid lines and generous volumes. The distinctive detail of Ketch is the use of iroko wood, essential and robust, contrasted with lighter parts that take the form of a flexible backrest, evoking the image of a sail stretched between the two masts of a boat. The flexible backrest of the sofas and armchair is supported by a simple and solid structure in iroko wood, a very resistant wood, treated with hydro-oils that preserve its beauty over time. The cushioning, made of materials and fabrics specific for outdoor use, is generous and comfortable.

This series of seats harmoniously matches the Ketch coffee tables, also the result of the same designer’s pencil. Ideal complement to finish the environment with style adding an indispensable functional element to the dynamics of outdoor life, the Ketch coffee tables are characterized by bronze fusion glass tops and glossy cream enameled stoneware and perfectly integrate with the elegance of the collection. This outdoor environment is concluded with the soft Kamir écru rug that adds a further level of comfort.

In conclusion, Poliform’s Outdoor collection, presented last year, demonstrates once again how well-conceived design can transform an outdoor space elevating it to a veritable outdoor living room. Thanks to its timeless style, excellent quality and contemporary and refined lines, this collection represents an example of how elegance and functionality can coexist in our outdoor living space.
