Outdoor Happiness in Chicago

In collaboration with Hundred Mile, Roda has opened an outdoor space in one of the city’s most dynamic neighbourhoods

Roda has opened its first single-brand store in the United States in Chicago – in the Fulton Market neighbourhood, one of the city’s most dynamic districts – in collaboration with Hundred Mile, a multi-brand showroom founded in 2013 and very active in the world of commercial, residential and private design.

The showroom is dedicated exclusively to outdoor furniture, with a display of the brand’s collections. The layout aims to create spaces that combine comfort and design, rich in green corners thanks to the presence of plants, in full spirit of Outdoor Happiness, a concept that sums up Roda’s philosophy.

“After identifying the main distributors in the United States, it was necessary to find someone who would embrace the spirit of the brand and be a spokesperson for the importance of Italian design in America,” says Roda CEO Daniele Pompa. “Kristina Albaugh and Josh Ingmire, the founders of Hundred Mile, seemed the perfect people for the job, thanks to their sensitivity to design and their love of Italy and our culture. Two years later, it is the ideal time in America to make the transition from a multi-brand showroom to a mono-brand. With Hundred Mile, we have been on a journey of growth together, and today we are grateful to continue this journey with the opening of Roda Chicago.”

In addition to being a true design hub, Chicago is logistically strategic for Roda, especially after the recent opening of the American sales and logistics subsidiary for the entire North American region, based in Montréal, Canada, created to strengthen the company’s structure abroad and offer a more capillary and faster service overseas.

Roda America’s aim is also to better meet the needs of a diverse market and to build deeper and more consolidated relationships with the main partners and stakeholders in the area, increasing the company’s visibility and presence in this important geographical area, where Roda now has almost 30 sales outlets.
