Kasthall unveils its first flagship store in the States

Unique carpets crafted with fine yarns are produced by Kasthall, the company founded in Sweden in 1889, now a worldwide leader in the rug design sector. The firm’s 135th anniversary is being celebrated with an exclusive opening, in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of New York: SoHo.

“The opening of the flagship store is an important step for our organization in North America. Now our focus shifts to the creation of stronger connections with clients, to fully understand their needs,” says David McNamara, Sales Director for North America. “We are bringing to New York what we have successfully done in our other global facilities: Stockholm, Malmö, Milan, Gothenburg and Tokyo.”

Not just a showroom, but also a dynamic hub into which to welcome the design community, architects and clients in the contract and residential sectors. The space features exposed brick and a large glazing-skylight that fills the store with natural light.

Designed by Daniela Bodsgård – Store Concept Developer and Visual Merchandiser for the company – in collaboration with Lena Jiseborn, Head of Design of the brand, the flagship has been inspired by the atmosphere of art galleries. For the recent opening, the company has created the Feather collection – a line designed by Ellinor Eliasson – shown in a lively range of colors drawn from nature, especially the magnificent plumage of birds, bringing playful and eclectic touches into living space.

“The new colors of the Feather collection – Lena Jiseborn explains – expand the already large sphere of our collection, adding a vibrant, versatile palette. From neutral tones to surprising chromatic accents, Feather radiates refinement… and a bit of fun.”
