India reaches three

Opening of Minotti Mumbai, the third monobrand in India. A harmonious meeting place between architecture and design

The spirit of the place, combined with the elegantly contemporary character of the brand. This is the new flagship store of Minotti in Mumbai, the third monobrand in India, and the second – after Ahmedabad – in collaboration with the local partner Design Italiano. Minotti Mumbai is located in Fort, the historic district from the colonial era, now the commercial and artistic hub of the city. The store is inside an iconic building from 1890, the Kitab Mahal. A wide colonnade reveals the windows, which bring natural light into the 350 square meters of the store.

Inside the large space plays with contrasts of materials and colors, and with the harmonious relationship between architecture and furnishings, based on the project by Minotti Studio. The concrete-effect ceramic flooring is joined by wenge-colored oak for the ceiling and the paneling. The presence of mirrored and metal surfaces covering the arches contributes to brighten the space, creating a sense of depth and perspective. The sequence of white and black for the columns marks the separation between the indoor and outdoor settings.

Three living area islands share the space around which to organize a constellation of complements and the inimitable bestsellers of the Minotti collections: the Connery, Twiggy and Dylan seating system, where the latter is the protagonist of the 2023 collection, all designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. The convivial spaces are enhanced by two lounge areas, where the protagonist is the Oliver table, accompanied by the Lars and Sendai chairs by Inoda+Sveje, and the Torii Bold seating family by Nendo.

Particular care has been lavished on the outdoor furnishings, represented here by the Florida seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni and the Bellagio Outdoor family of tables by Gordon Guillaumier, next to the Lido Cord Outdoor seating designed by GamFratesi.

Minotti Mumbai offers a dynamic image to showcase the philosophy and lifestyle of the brand, open to the public but also to sector professionals. To support the world of design, two private areas and one meeting room have also been set up inside the store.
