The American dream

B&B Italia reinforces its presence in the States by opening new stores

An exciting and dynamic autumn for B&B Italia, launching a plan of openings and expansions in the United States to fully consolidate its position on that market, a fundamental one for the group. The brands B&B Italia, Maxalto, Arclinea and Azucena find a home inside flagship stores in the cities of Washington DC, Miami, New York City and Boston, thanks to new openings and updates of existing facilities.

“North America has always been one of our markets of reference: last year, as in the first part of 2023, our brand has seen double-digit growth, and through continuing projects of new openings and renovations, we want to continue to wager on the lively interest expressed by US clients,” says Gilberto Negrini, Chief Executive Officer of Gruppo B&B Italia. The openings are backed by the “reinforcement of the e-commerce operations of B&B Italia for the North American market, successfully launched last year, in a phygital strategy on which we will continue to invest.”

The developments start from Washington DC, where B&B Italia, on 30 October, has opened a new location in the very central district of Georgetown, with an area of 1200 sqm on three levels, containing all the brands of the group, with a special focus on Maxalto, with its own entrance on the ground floor in Cady’s Alley.

In December, during Art Basel, the doors will open of the new B&B Italia Design Studio Miami, a space of over 1500 sqm located in the heart of the Design District: this is the first flagship store on the East Coast of the United States, also including the lighting brands Flos and Louis Poulsen (part of Design Holding), thus offering a new, complete and versatile shopping experience, as well as design services.

New York is a case apart. The long-term flagship on 58th Street has finally been reopened, with additional space for the “modern classic” collections of Maxalto, for which in 2023 the group has made important investments. The brand, in fact, will have a new store of its own in the Big Apple, facing 31st Street. In 2024 the expansion of the store on Madison Avenue will be completed – reaching an overall size of 1800 sqm of display space – to welcome the brands of the B&B Italia group and the offerings of the brands of Design Holding.

Finally, in Boston, also in 2024, the group will open a new flagship store, involving dialogue between B&B Italia, Maxalto and Arclinea, in a space of about 1300 sqm on two levels, to present the main collections of the furnishing and kitchen brands.
