Borzalino lands in Ivory Coast

The Tuscan brand has opened a showroom of 100 square meters in Abidjan, a project that has become reality in record time

Authentic Made in Italy lands in Ivory Coast: Borzalino, the Tuscany-based brand founded in 1976 by Galeazzo Fedi, has opened a showroom of 100 square meters in Abidjan, the main trade center and former capital of the African state, in partnership with Phenicia – Vivez le Comfort, one of the country’s leaders in the field of home furnishings.

The collaboration between Borzalino, now helmed by Cristiana Fedi and Matteo Pieri, the second and third generations of the founding family, and Phenicia has continued for 12 years. “In September 2022,” the company reports, “we decided to open an exclusive space in Ivory Coast, and in just six months the project has become reality thanks to exceptional teamwork, a joint effort based on passion and coordination: from the sales staff to the designers, the art direction to the management. We would like to extend our thanks to the city of Abidjan and Ivory Coast for this warm welcome.”

The space is divided into six zones based on a natural, light palette, with prevalent tones of cream, dove gray, cognac, straw, and accents in brighter hues. Sofas, armchairs, large and small tables have been combined with the aim of full immersion of visitors in the Borzalino mood, to imagine living spaces that match their desires.

The choice of materials involves above all the traditional characteristics of the brand, like Sequoia leather: marbled, with a unique nubuck effect, it covers the Taylor chairs in a straw color and the Lisa model in pale blue, as well as the Eclipse mirror. Not only in the coverings but also in the finishes, other classic materials of the Borzalino concept stand out: the Blue Island veined marble on the Dorian table and the small Shield tables, or the canaletto walnut for the Gordon and Nima bookcases.

Borzalino has also brought new materials to Abidjan, like the Vanilla covering, a water-repellent leather with a silky touch, for the Ayton and Martin sofas, or Pietra Pece, utilized for the Brock table, a Sicilian calcarenite that stands out for its chromatic variations and the presence of fossils and veins.
