The new flagship store of Carl Hansen & Søn in Milan

Italy is an important market for the Danish firm, which has updated its presence in the city of design by opening a space in the Brera district

Not far from the first store opened by the company in Milan, Carl Hansen & Søn continues to wager on the city by opening a new showroom in Brera. “The Italian market has always shown great interest in our furniture, and now we finally have the opportunity to show Italian clients a wider selection of our classic and contemporary pieces, in a flagship store that is three times larger than the previous space,” says Knud Erik Hansen, CEO and representative of the third generation of the Hansen family.

Inside the facility at Via Mercato 3, the Danish brand presents iconic design pieces and some of the masterpieces of its classic furniture collection, including items created by masters of Danish Modern like Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Poul Kjærholm, Arne Jacobsen and Børge Mogensen, produced by skilled artisans since 1908 in the company’s workshop on the island of Funen. “The flagship store welcomes visitors into a space of 360m², enabling us to tell the story of our brand and our iconic collection of finely crafted pieces, made of natural materials with design at the highest levels,” Knud Erik Hansen comments.
