Kami is a very recent development from Lapalma, while AP is a must-have item of the brand, which from the past returns in a fresh new guise. What they have in common is a design that resembles a graphic sign in the air; and the ability of their creators to bend wooden material, as if it were a sheet of paper. The results are two pieces of furniture that pay tribute to the art of origami.
Kami, which in Japanese means precisely “sheet of paper,” is a stool created by Mario Ferrarini with extreme originality and versatility. The raw material is plywood, which adapts to the lines of the drawing and its three-dimensional configuration. The opening at the center, which in the molding phase permits the bending and counter-bending of the seat and legs, becomes a handy grip and underlines the welcoming “cradle” profile. Furthermore, Kami becomes easy to stack, thus optimizing spaces.

The folding of a sheet of wood generates AP, designed by Shin Azumi. This stool enters space with extreme lightness, in residential spaces, hospitality facilities or offices. Its versatility is the outcome of its graphic design, with gentle and aesthetically surprising curves. Available in plywood finished in blanched oak, dark stained walnut, open-pore black.
