A material characteristic of sculpture, plaster has accompanied artistic production throughout the ages, spreading its knowledge. With the new 3D Wall Plaster collection, Atlas Concorde draws on this historical legacy, reinterpreting the tradition of master sculptors in a contemporary key. The plastic strength typical of the material finds its maximum expression in this three-dimensional ceramic surface that is characterised by its marked handcrafted appearance.
Each relief on the surface evokes the artist’s gesture and the mark left by the work tools from which the decorative motifs take shape. Five decorative subjects: Origami, Bloom, Jasmine, Combed and Barcode, which generate soft reliefs, trowelling, engravings, stripes and weaves that interact with the light and give back a vibrant perception of the surface. Environments are illuminated through games of 3D micro-details that, when observed up close or in the distance, give off different effects each time.

Among the finishes proposed by the 3D Wall Plaster collection, Bloom stands out for its romantic appearance defined by a soft and delicate relief. On the ceramic surface, one seems to be able to read the light traces of the artist’s brush bristles and the very texture of the support canvas.
Rigour and balance, on the other hand, characterise Barcode, a decorative pattern marked by an important basic formal geometry. The pattern is described by horizontal lines of varying width, and seems to be chiselled on a block of chalk.

Jasmine, on the other hand, relies on botanical inspiration: the smooth surface of a block of chalk is engraved with an interlacing of jasmine leaves. By means of the engraving technique, which consists of removing material from the surface, the leaves are entirely hollowed out, or their outer edges are hollowed out to make them emerge, a play on hollows and reliefs that gives the surface three-dimensionality.
Inspired by the ancient Japanese technique, Origami works like a micro-mosaic and seems to originate from the juxtaposition of pieces of folded paper. Created on fresh plaster and then worked with a trowel, this finish gives the surface a discreet three-dimensional effect when viewed as a whole, while up close it is enriched with details and facets.

Combed, 3D Wall Plaster collection by Atlas Concorde
Finally, the surface of Combed is characterised by a soft and evanescent, almost wavy, ridged relief. Made on fresh plaster, it is enriched by a surface micro-roughening carried out with a comb during the block drying process.
