The future meets history

FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, a brand of Iris Ceramica Group, brings the Renaissance into the present

In the countryside near Modena, set in a one-hectare park with over 600 years of history, frequented by aristocrats who have expanded it over the years: this is Villa La Personala. Unfortunately the earthquake of 2012 caused serious damage to this heritage site, almost razing it to the ground. But the efforts of the Personali-Ferri family have taken the villa back to its original splendor, creating a mixed-use location for hospitality and work. The scientific restoration has been carried out by Studio Acanale Ingegneria+Architettura, with the significant contribution of Arch. Wainer Barbati for the interior design.

The reconstruction of the spaces, especially the floors, required a partner capable of suggesting the original materials in a natural way: the choice went to FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, which with its infinite collections of stones and marbles has reproduced the context of hundreds of years ago, restoring a piece of history to the community and the world of work. Villa La Personala is a multifunctional pole, in fact: 12 suites, meeting rooms, an external tensile structure to welcome over 200 people.

FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, with its products selected for the floors of Villa La Personala, has formed a modern bond between the Renaissance and the present. The research on finishes that would be as plausible as possible (if not identical in visual terms) for the various areas of the villa has led to the choice of FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti as the most qualified partner for the project.

At the entrance of the villa and throughout the ground floor (lounge, steps, restaurant, breakfast room) the Rialto Venetian terrazzo sets the aesthetic tone, with the Tutta Massa collection and its infinite combinations of aggregates, in the variations Beige and Earth, evoking history with a careful sequence of hues. Rialto is also ideal for safety considerations for the handicapped, in the textured skid-proof version. The Renaissance also has echoes in the facings of the two communicating banquet rooms: MaxFine CityStone reflects a perfect combination between container and content. The large MaxFine marble-effect slabs have been used in the 12 suites (including the vanity tops and shower cabins), in the Calacatta and Travertino versions, to complete the setting.

The offerings of FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti represent the ideal range of products: ecological, resistant to temperature changes, flameproof and non-toxic, hygienic and easy to maintain. Their aesthetic features, with many available options, provide infinite opportunities and interpretations connected with the context: from the modern and the contemporary to the past, as demonstrated in the remarkable project for Villa La Personala.
