Cassina acquires Zanotta

The company founded by Aurelio Zanotta becomes part of the Haworth Lifestyle Design group

It’s official: Zanotta has been acquired by Cassina and thus becomes part of the Haworth Lifestyle Design group – which now contains the brands Cassina, Cappellini, Ceccotti, Karakter, Poltrona Frau, Luxury Living, Janus et Cie, Luminaire and Interni. Cassina will have the task of coordinating the activities and future growth of Zanotta, a company with turnover of about 25 million euros.

“After years of intense work that has brought Zanotta into the spotlight, I am pleased that this outstanding company can continue its journey in the company of an important player like Cassina, which will help it to fulfill its potential,” says Giuliano Mosconi, CEO of the Tecno/Zanotta group.

This enthusiasm is shared by the CEO of Cassina, Luca Fuso: “We are extremely happy to welcome Zanotta, a company that has written important pages of design history, with which we share the basic values of the industry, from production quality to promotion of culture. A formidable brand which will have total operative autonomy to continue its path of creativity, in search of new talents and bringing out the value of an exceptional product portfolio. We will take good care of Zanotta and we are planning to take the company to new heights of renown, all over the world.”

Zanotta, in fact, is an authoritative exponent of Italian design.
Founded in 1954 at Nova Milanese and helmed by Aurelio Zanotta, the company has made a name for itself from the outset thanks to products that are emblematic for their innovative forms and technological research. Also thanks to extraordinary collaborations with the most important protagonists on the Italian scene, including Gae Aulenti, Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Alessandro Mendini, Carlo Mollino, Bruno Munari and Ettore Sottsass. The firm’s collection includes the Maggiolina chaise longue, the Sciangai coat rack, the Sacco chair, the Tonietta chair, the Mezzadro stool, the Leonardo table, the Allunaggio outdoor seating and the Quaderna table, in production for decades.

Zanotta is and remains one of the most representative, recognizable and iconic companies, also due to its 330 products on view in 56 museums around the world, with 4 Compasso d’Oro ADI awards across the span of its existence.
