Cassina Pro: a collection for the hospitality sector and workspaces

For the first time at ORGATEC, Cassina presents its Pro Collection: Pro/fessional, destined for Pro/jects, with certified Pro/ducts. The launch features five new models, a selection of items from the 2022 collection and signature pieces reviewed in a Pro spirit.

Pro, a professional, project-orientated and product certified collection: Cassina Pro is the name of the collection specifically studied for the hospitality sector and workspaces that Cassina presents at ORGATEC 2022, from 25 to 29 October in Cologne, drawing on the brand’s legacy of icons. An articulated range of offerings, organized in five major areas: Lobbies and Lounges, Executive Offices and Professional Studios, Meeting Areas and Workplaces, Restaurants and Bars, Hospitality.

The catalogue, which contains items created by great historical and contemporary designers (Franco AlbiniMario Bellini, Jeffrey Bernett, Le CorbusierPiero LissoniJean-Marie MassaudCharlotte Perriand, Carlo Scarpa, Philippe StarckKazuhide TakahamaPatricia UrquiolaMarco Zanuso and others), expands with five new projects: the Cab Office collection of armchairs by Mario Bellini, the Banquette Mauritanie bench and the Bureau Boomerang desk, both by Charlotte Perriand, the Cotone Slim bench by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, and the LC16 desk by Le Corbusier. All the pieces have undergone stringent tests carried out by independent experts to obtain certification for public use.

In addition, the collection features new 2022 names, such as Linde Freya Tangelder with the Soft Corners poufs, and Mikal Harrsen with the Ghost Wall system, and a further selection of successful products from the residential collection reworked for contract use.

Created by Mario Bellini in 1977, the Cab seating family has been expanded with Cab Office, reclining swivel chairs with armrests, on five-spoke bases in die-cast aluminium with wheels, in saddle leather available in a range of intense, sophisticated colors (black, Bulgarian red, natural, taupe and brown). Available in the high-back version with a headrest, Cab Office President, and two variants with low backs, Cab Office Conference and Cab Office Conference Maxi with a larger seat.

In 1959 Charlotte Perriand designed the furnishings for the homes of the managers and workers of a mining company on the Atlantic coast of Mauritania. One of the items in the project was the Banquette Mauritanie, a bench composed of a grille of wooden slats attached to a metal base: a construction detail that reveals Cassina’s exceptional woodworking experience. The bench can be used without cushions, with a single two or three seater cushion, or with the addition of cushions for the back. The bench can be equipped with integrated USB sockets.

design Le Corbusier

Working in close contact with the Fondation Le Corbusier, to maintain the utmost respect for the original design, Cassina has also reissued the LC16 Bureau desk, expanding its proportions and making it possible to equip with integrated power sources, in a monochrome version with a natural oak structure or – like the original – with a glossy red lacquered top.

The Bureau Boomerang desk was designed in 1938 by Charlotte Perriand when the architect designed the furniture for the office of Jean-Richard Bloch, an intellectual, writer, co-editor of the newspaper Ce Soir and founder of the Committee of Anti-Fascist Intellectuals. Today it comes with new finishes in oak-stained or black-stained ash or natural canaletto walnut, in a version that can be equipped with integrated power sources, and can be combined with the drawer unit of the LC10 Bureau La Semaine à Paris desk by Le CorbusierPierre JeanneretCharlotte Perriand, adapted in 1930 by Charlotte Perriand.

Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the Cotone Slim bench completes the range of offerings for public spaces. In anodized or matte graphite coated extruded aluminium, it comes with leather or fabric upholstery, and can be equipped  with integrated power sources and USB sockets. Like all the products in the Cassina iMaestri collection, to guarantee authenticity the pieces bear the logo of the collection, the signature of the designer and the numbering of the series.

Finally, Cassina offers industry professionals a series of digital tools on its website, including: the Cassina Pro catalogue; a pCon configurator; 2D and 3D technical drawings; technical product sheets; product certifications; and a photo-realistic product configurator.
