Purity of form: Porro in Chongqing

A tailor-made project by Piero Lissoni, a place for dialogue between architects, interior designers and clients

Crafted attention to detail and functional elegance. These are just some of the earmarks of the new Porro showroom opened in the fascinating Chinese city of Chongqing, balanced between age-old traditions and a metropolitan spirit.

The design of the flagship store has been assigned to Piero Lissoni, art director of the brand, who has wagered on a concept that focuses on sustainability without refraining from solutions of great visual impact, such as the elegant arched entrance in blue glass, or the floors in resin, set off by walls coated with ecological paints taken from the processing of rice.

The spaces offer a mixture of geometric forms, technological research and excellent finishes, starting with the living area gathered around the Left bench, where the Kite sofa and chairs are accompanied by the Palladio table designed by GamFratesi.

The dining room features the iconic Ex Libris bookcase and the Materic table, while in the reception area the Fractal table by Piero Lissoni is the true protagonist, a true standout for a private residence or an office.

The Porro style also emerges in the bedrooms, with the Byron bed’s soft and sophisticated lines, the Offshore chest of drawers in painted ash wood, and the elegant, functional Storage Complanare wardrobe.

A space that is the expression of a precise philosophy, relying on an avant-garde production system that eliminates warehouse stock and focuses on quality, customization and reduction of waste.
