From the Aurora Tre bed, based on an original project by Tito Agnoli from 2005, to Happy Jack, the sleek, welcoming sofa by the duo Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, by way of the Leplì outdoor seating family by the designer Kensaku Oshiro. Poltrona Frau celebrates 110 years of activity, putting an even more pronounced accent on the tradition of handmade excellence. A brand always identified with elegance, leather and timeless luxury design, Poltrona Frau now adds another facet to its history, expanding its offerings for a well-informed, demanding clientele.

The Aurora Tre bed has an enveloping, organic look, a seductive embrace for the eyes and the touch; the covering in Pelle Frau® or fabric, where the stitches are made one by one in the company’s workshops, encloses padding in variable-density polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.
The Happy Jack seating system – compact and comfortable – is an ode to simplicity, the result of a careful process of proportioning of elements and complex technical and visual solutions (like the cushions with soft, swelling lines, suggesting an experience of complete relaxation). The system offers linear configurations or compatibility with a chaise longue, with an aluminium frame covered in Pelle Frau®.

The Leplì collection of three ‘easy and occasional’ seating elements – an ottoman, a stool and a bench for indoor use – is now also available in an outdoor version, with a bold, complex wave of polypropylene cord, applied by hand to an aluminium structure. The color range (Taupe, Ècru and Rust) of Leplì Outdoor has been selected for coordination not only with the other new collection Souvenir d’Italie by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba (a two-seat sofa and small table, both available in two sizes), but also with the other elements of the Boundless Living Outdoor Collection launched in 2021, whose concept is to get beyond indoor-outdoor distinctions, in spaces that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
The factor of craftsmanship is more vivid than ever in the line of furnishing complements offered by Poltrona Frau, a growing family of creations. This year, the new collaboration with the designer Assia Karaguizova has led to Water Illusion, a collection of glass vases made with a complex casting technique. Other items include the Harp and Harp Vibration carpets by Simona Cremascoli, in 100% natural silk knotted by hand, and the experiments (again by Cremascoli) with digital printing on leather (Pelle Frau® Motif Weavers), which become cushions or vases where the leather wraps a central glass body.
The central focus of all these projects is the concept of “true evolution”: which for Poltrona Frau means reliance on the company’s own cultural, design and production identity, to interpret the different styles of contemporary living.

Lastly, sustainability: the company is committed to researching tanning, finishing and leather processing processes that have the least possible impact on the environment. Today, it presents Pelle Frau® Impact Less, which replaces the chromium component in tanning with less polluting products, reducing the total use of chemicals by 15%, and introduces waste water recovery thanks to state-of-the-art technologies. These processes, certified Gold by LWG (Leather Working Group), will be applied to the entire Pelle Frau® Colorsphere® series later this year.
