Borderlines

Transparent or decorative, hinged, pivoting or sliding doors emerge from walls to become protagonists, underlining the symbolic gesture of crossing and passage with their presence

They can separate or join. Doors border spaces, in custom versions full of expressive potential. Ranging from decorative effects involving geometry and colors, to finishes featuring sustainable substances. All the way to the choice of the purity and transparency of glass, in a variety of different finishes.

HenryGlass, seeking new ideas to update its collections, has applied a series of decorative effects designed by the architect Nicola Gallizia to its doors, producing exclusive graphic games. Four decorative models are available in different hues, to combine as desired with wallpaper. In the image, sliding doors from the Manhattan line in frosted glass, combined with wallpaper.

Thanks to Vetrite, doors become true décor elements in the home. The new collection of doors by Sicis includes sliding hideaway models with one, two or three panels, hinged doors and sliding doors with metal borders. The items come in all the Vetrite colors, Vetrite Gem Glass and Vetrite Sight, plus new geometric effects created specifically for this collection.

FerreroLegno has developed a new finish with very low environmental impact and very high visual appeal. Iride brings out the grain of brushed ash wood for an ultra-matte effect, totally without reflection, soft to the touch and resistant to fingerprints. The innovative finish is very sustainable, thanks to the use of BIO water-based coatings, the absence of formaldehyde and a production cycle that drastically reduces CO emission. In a private home designed by studio wok, Dooor combines the warmth of walnut with the composure of white surfaces, through delicate waves and a neutral texture. The textile door makes it possible to soften the austerity of wood, adapting to a flexible lifestyle.

From decoration to transparency with Skye, designed by Piero Lissoni for Lualdi. The new partition system has been conceived as a highly flexible product, not limited to rigid production runs and ready to adapt to any functional context, using glass in a wide range of finishes and thicknesses. The wood utilized for the borders is a ‘carbon sequestration’ material that triggers a process of capture, fixing and storage of CO2 from the atmosphere, improving air quality.

The transparency of glass meets the material substance of aluminium in Bellagio, a product by Viva porte. The borders, available in white, anodized aluminium, lead and lava, now also come with new metal finishes, in innovative shades of bronze and burnishing. The glass is interpreted with various finishes: transparent to frosted, mirror-effect to glossy, by way of tones of fumé and bronze. The sliding glass doors, equipped with handles, can be combined with each other or with a fixed panel.

Sherazade Patchwork Spin is a panel with a rotating vertical movement, featuring adjustable pivot hinges, ideal for many different design solutions. Designed by Piero Lissoni for Glas Italia, it has one panel without a jamb, for bidirectional opening. The version with a central pivot rotates by 360 degrees. The perfect alignment of the panels is ensured by a magnetic system. The surface of the door is divided into four segments, on which to place different types of monolithic tempered glass. Thanks to a gasket, these panels can be inserted at the center of aluminium sections, offered in five different finishes.

The Modo door by Movi, a sliding model with Flutes glass, lightens the spatial division and creates a special peek-a-boo effect. This model offers the perfect combination of essential design and functional quality. The profile is a single volume, with well-gauged proportions.
