Dreams are wishes… for design: here comes Disney Home

A new brand entirely focused in décor and furnishings, promising iconic pieces, soft tones and ultraminimal styling, getting away from the loud colors of the brand’s merchandising in the past

Before sitting down at the table, we have to decide whether to stay on the dark side of the force (with a setting all in tones of gray)… or to peacefully slip into the “light side,” with pale tablecloths and reassuring tableware: this is just one example of the new collections of the Disney Home brand that will soon be available in Europe, for all those who love Mickey but also Star Wars or the characters of Pixar and Marvel.

The product previews of licensed partners set out to reassure even the most diffident observers about the chic style of the collections: no loud colors, minimal graphics, subtle reminders of the great classics, all with an eye on the world of design.

Who doesn’t remember Sleeping Beauty with a frock that kept changing its hue in a magical way? Here comes the elegant pink and blue sofa fabric, with a nod to both colors and their good fairy characters.

The black profile of Mickey Mouse’s ears becomes a mini-shelf (iconic!), a vaguely Fifties mirror; there are also carpets with amazing graphics, with a damask effect, for the ‘deconstruction’ of the character (the latter are available at Ruggable).

Even the cribs for the rooms of little kids have very light lines, with small graphic features depicting Disney puppies (made in France by AT4), to ward off parents with a taste for upper-crust interior design.

The complete Disney Home collection will be available in the months to come at various retailers. For the moment, we can follow the previews on the Instagram account @disneyhome, and continue to dream…
