Valcucine, sustainability 4.1

Valcucine renews its commitment to sustainability with a detailed program in which the world of design is on the front lines, together with the Friuli-based company

For over 40 years Valcucine has paid close attention to the issues of sustainability, with an approach that has always favored ‘doing’ over ‘talking.’ On the same wavelength, “Sustainability beyond Space and Time” is a cycle of encounters presented in Milan during Design Week, to discuss hot topics connected with ecology, together with 10 leading names in architecture (Arup, Barreca & La Varra, GBPA Architects, Mario Cucinella Architects, One Works, Park Associati, Progetto CMR, Scandurra Studio Architettura, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Tectoo), who will illustrate their LEED certified projects.

A preview of the event was provided in an encounter organized by Valcucine to present the project, with the participation of Alessio Mirabella of Arup, Laura Tiburzi Bim manager of Mario Cucinella Architects, and Laura Pighi of Habitech.

The calendar of encounters is accompanied by LE3DERS, an exhibition on view in the Valcucine showroom in Brera: in collaboration with 3XN, Craft, GCA, HENN, HPP, Rafael de la Hoz and Schmidt Hammer Lassen, the show will feature 3D architectural models that can be experienced with augmented reality technology.

Not just projects, but also sustainable products: in collaboration with Habitech, Valcucine has updated the mapping of its products with the LEED v4.1 protocol for certification of sustainable architecture.

In Milan, Valcucine outlines an important chapter in the evolution of sustainability, and the Design Week is an appointment that corresponds perfectly to the theme (not vice versa), because Milan is one of the five European cities with the most buildings that have been designed, constructed and LEED certified.
