Bisazza & Studio KO: modernist aesthetics

Geometry, lights, shadows, rhythm and vibration. The combination of these elements gives rise to a new line of decorations in marble, created by Bisazza in collaboration with the French designers of Studio KO

Making its debut in Paris during Paris Déco Home, inside the Bisazza flagship store, the Studio KO Collection is the result of the first collaboration between Bisazza and the duo of French architects Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty, with offices in Paris and Marrakesh.

“When we decided to create a collection with a focus on marble for Bisazza, we were inspired by Italy, which in every one of its regions offers an incredible variety of different stones, colors and styles. For architects like us with a taste for understatement, the tribute to this mineral heritage takes the form of a domestic, modernist interpretation, to reinterpret codes, uses and often functions as well,” the two architects explain.

The collection brings to mind Pompeii, the floors of St. Mark’s Basilica, the architecture of Gio Ponti and Piero Portaluppi. It is composed of three decorative versions: Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3. Each module, ready for installation, features one geometric figure: Module 1 comes from the sequential repetition of three rectangles, Module 2 creates a design of triangles like a woven fabric, and Module 3 introduces the figure of the circle, establishing a dialogue with the veins of the marble.

The three patterns are all available in three color variants, with three different effects: lights and shadows for Chiaroscuro, a false solid color for the Monocromo version, and the insertion of a luminous ochre hue for Policromo. All nine patterns have a matte finish, in line with the aesthetic profile of Studio KO.
