As in an atelier. Ten international design icons get a new look: a different covering for a completely unexpected appeal. The products come from the wide-ranging, sophisticated catalogue of The Invisible Collection, while the fabrics for this unusual transformation are from the equally extensive and variegated Dedar archives.
The encounter between these two companies sharing a taste for design and craftsmanship generates a project of artistic experimentation with a new dialogue between décor and auteur, with Dedar as the mediator.
The InvisibleCollection & Dedar, Ebisu Sofa by Charlotte Biltgen
The Invisible Collection is a well-known online platform of decorating and design, bringing together leading interior designers and creative talents with a focus on manufacture. It was founded by Anna Zaoui and Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays and operates in London, Paris and New York. From their wide range of contemporary furnishings, ten seats were selected, whose respective designers were able to freely choose the Dedar fabric most suitable for their creations, giving the products a new identity.
The results? They can be seen in Paris, in a fascinating, curious display made even more enticing by the setting: Féau Boiseries, the largest private French collection of paneling from the 17th century to the present, and now a reference point for French interior decorating.
The elaborate boiseries and the ten items updated for contemporary style generate an immersive pathway of design and its history.

There is the Alexandra sofa, which Charles Zana has covered in “Vladimiro” mohair velvet; the Artur chair by Oitoemponto, donning the “Tiger Mountain” jacquard velvet; the Lodge chair and ottoman by Pinto with the “Strange Loves” outdoor striped fabric; and the Conversation chair by Vincent Darré, wearing the jacquard “This Must Be The Place.”
The works of Laura Gonzalez mark a high point. The designer has chosen the “Tiger Mountain” jacquard velvet for the Colosseo chair, the “Nimbus” wool bouclé for the Mawu model, also seen with the “Romeo & Giulietta” silk velvet.

The path continues with the Khelone seating by Pietro Franceschini covered in the wool velvet “A Soft Place,” followed by the Ebisu sofa of Charlotte Biltgen with the wool bouclé “Karakorum.” Finally, the Mia chair has been renewed by Sandra Benhamou with the cotton velvet “Adamo & Eva.”
“We enormously admire Dedar, which for us is synonymous with daring and creativity in fabrics – say the co-founders of The Invisible Collection. – We enjoyed working with Caterina and Raffaele Fabrizio, the owners of the company, on the presentation of the collection last summer in the Hamptons and later in New York. We share the same commitment to sustainable growth, and we have a dream: to be able to return to the Dedar ateliers on the shore of Lake Como.”
The exhibition at Rue Laugier 9 in Paris will be open by appointment until 28 March.
