Giorgetti: the sofa is "prêt-à-vivre"

Vesper overturns the idea of traditional upholstered furniture, enabling us to experience exceptional comfort in a dynamic, personalized way. A system, rather than a sofa, created by Roberto Lazzeroni for Giorgetti

“This project dates back to a few years ago, but as often happens, I was too far ahead of the market – says Roberto Lazzeroni. – Today the time has come, finally, and Giorgetti, with its extraordinary manufacturing prowess, has been the ideal partner to translate my thinking into something tangible.” The collaboration between the designer and the company has lasted in time, indicating a shared sensibility that once again has led to concrete emotional results embodied in an object.

Vesper is a totally unconventional sofa, created to be shaped around the needs of the user thanks to modular design that fully interprets the fluidity of contemporary life. “The sofa is a place where many everyday activities happen – Lazzeroni continues. – The one in my house, for example, has a large depth, which permits to use it for reading, relaxing or sleeping, but also for working or having a snack. I have brought some of these concepts into the Vesper project.” The result is an island that defines space by “moving” in a natural way through sinuous lines and organic forms, which offer visual and tactile softness.

The main element is the platform base, a simple image on which to organize multiple configurations, covered in leather or fabric and made with the same sartorial care that goes into the upholstered parts. Various solutions can be obtained by combining the right or left element with the long back, or interrupting the overall composition with a seat-pouf with the same depth. The covering is completely removable, in leather or fabric, and offers the possibility of monochrome or two-tone versions, combining the two materials.

Giorgetti’s ability to grasp stimuli and trends, conveying them in quality and innovation, is vividly evident in Vesper, which becomes the heart of the living area with its joyful personality, the outcome of exceptional design that relies on the company’s usual attention to detail and its extraordinary blend of tradition and technology.
