The rhythm of the waves

The sinuous movement of the sea is the leitmotif of the colors and materials chosen for the spaces of the new Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort and Spa, on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia. Bamax, a company with outstanding crafts know-how, has designed and implemented all the shared areas

The perpetual motion of water is everywhere, reproduced in interiors to connect with the cobalt blue sea, waiting for guests along 200 meters of private beach. The new Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort and Spa is between the fascinating city of Opatija and the livelier Rijeka, on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, ready to offer one of the country’s finest seaside locations.

For a superlative stay, there are 132 rooms, 62 villas and suites, ranging from deluxe doubles to duplex flats with three bedrooms, all facing the sea and usually with large terraces. Not to mention the spa and wellness center of 3700 sqm, in which to enjoy a Finnish sauna, a hydrothermal pool and even a room for Himalayan salt treatments. The interior design visually accompanies a psycho-physical state connected with the surrounding natural setting, thanks to furnishings that gently take you into an ‘oceanic’ and serene world.

All the shared areas have been designed and produced by Bamax, a company with roots developed in collaboration with master cabinetmakers, moving forward with an age-old tradition of excellence. Craftsmanship you can inhale – literally, with the enticing scent of wood – right from the lobby and the reception area, where the crafted items of the Opale collection come alive in solid oak with natural hues, and in the Poesia tables, a poetic tribute to the soft rings of the trunks of trees.

In the executive lounge, ‘tailored’ to the desires of clients, the Diamante collection takes on a Deco tone, with the presence of marble, burnished brass and leather. In the meeting room the protagonist is the paneling, cladding an area designed to grant style and elegance to presentations and corporate gatherings with natural, noble materials.

The real challenge facing the Bamax team was the design of the wellness zones and the two spas, extremely luxurious gems: Wellness Piuma, a garment made to measure for a space that takes its inspiration from the world of nature, with ‘plumes’ rigorously made by hand, and Wellness Oceano, a place to let yourself be wrapped by waves and cascades of volumes carved into solid oak.
