To convince yourself that this is not a piece of fabric but an aluminium radiator, you are spontaneously tempted to touch it. TESSUTO by Cordivari Design comes from Marco Pisati’s reflections on the weave of fabrics, with the aim of reproducing their warp on the surface of a vertical décor radiator.
Also intriguing in terms of production, TESSUTO finds its inspiration in the screen printing techniques of contemporary art, and thanks to its intentionally asymmetrical rhythm it can create infinite results. Just as in many works by Andy Warhol, which were reproduced in series, but with slight differences to make every copy unique. The design of the radiator is thus asymmetrical, with grooves and flat portions. If the element with this design is rotated by 180° a mirror image is generated. During assembly at the factory, the elements – rotated or not – are intentionally assembled at random, giving rise to infinite rhythms and patterns.
All the extruded aluminium parts are juxtaposed to create a continuous surface with excellent heating performance. Each piece has a width of 15 cm, with variable height. The assembly triggers multiple possibilities of width, translating into great design freedom. Available in as many as 80 color variations, the radiator comes with a system of minimalist accessories like shelves and racks, which become a single whole with the product itself.
