The event par excellence on design in the Middle East is now in progress (until 12 November): Downtown Design in 2021 confirms its leading position on the market, managing once again to bring together creative talents and designers, companies and buyers from over 20 countries in a completely live situation. Next to the most experimental design and the limited editions contained in the Downtown Editions capsule collection, premium furniture returns as the protagonist with Made in Italy at the forefront.

Minotti is on hand with a refined display space created in collaboration with AATI, the exclusive dealer of Minotti products in the United Arab Emirates; the project stages the main items of the 2021 collection to offer an immersive experience of the brand and above all of “The Villas,” a virtual project for Hospitality 2021. The Roger seating system (designed by Rodolfo Dordoni) is just one example.
Ethimo narrates its world en plein air with a dense array of proposals: from the Swing chairs to the Knit family (both by Patrick Norguet), from the Kilt collection by Marcello Ziliani to the Lucerna lamps by Luca Nichetto.
The outstanding presence in the displays of Giorgetti, alongside the latest collections, is the sculptural GK.02 kitchen in Calacatta Oro marble, utilized for the occasion in cooking demonstrations.

Dubai becomes an exceptional location for the presentation of the collaboration between Illulian and Serena Confalonieri, who has designed the Laki collection for the carpetmaker, featuring geometric lines inspired by Futurism, with a contrasting color range.
For Tonin Casa, the main figure of the stand is the Blade table, featuring a single central base and a wooden cover that opens towards the top with great lightness.

Artemide has a multiple presence in Dubai, where the lighting brand updates its image starting with the showroom at d3, completely reinstalled with the latest collections. At Downtown Design the company already stands out at the entrance with “Thru,” a multisensory interactive installation designed by the local architecture and interior design firm Niu Studio: a work of urban land art in which the light of Artmide (in the products Irupè and Gople Outdoor) guides visitors towards the exhibition space. Finally, at Cityscape 2021 – Expo 2020, Artemide collaborates with KEO, lighting its stand.

Remaining in the city, new design hubs have appeared parallel to Downtown Design and the context of Dubai Design Week. Fiam has opened a store at the concept showroom of the dealer Finasi, in the heart of the Main Square of the Design District. The event, besides offering a pretext to retrace the fundamental phases of the company’s history through outstanding technical innovations, is an opportunity to present the recent Mood project, a new idea of the home with a central focus on glass and its expressive impact.

On the same wavelength, Febal Casa recently opened a new flagship store at Al Marabea Sheikh Zayed Road, in the Al Quoz industrial area. The facility of 430 sqm displays the company’s idea of contemporary living, as well as a true Experience Area in which to examine entire sample ranges, selecting from a wide variety of personalized décor offerings.
