Azimut 68, a yacht for everyone

With a length of 21 meters, the latest Azimut model offers three different layouts, with interior design based on flexibility and versatility of use. Ideal for any type of lifestyle

In a period in which boats are seen as the safest and most pleasurable place on earth, the latest model by Azimut, presented in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival, is aimed at yachtsmen with a range of different lifestyles. Azimut 68, in fact, with its length of 21 meters, can be used as a floating “annex” of a villa in Miami, as a chase boat (pertaining to a mega-yacht), or simply for totally independent sailing in the Mediterranean.

The clean, attractive lines have been created by Alberto Mancini, who has always been inspired by car design and has worked to shape the fiberglass material, also to bring out certain details. Three different layouts are available for the main deck: with an elegant saloon at the entrance and a galley towards the bow, closed by an element in ribbed wood and plexiglass; with an open kitchen facing the dining zone; or with the galley at the entrance of the main deck, to encourage socializing in the dining zone by the cockpit, shifting the living area towards the bow.

All three layouts are organized on two levels with a multifunctional zone at the center, which can be utilized for lunches and dinners, conversation and reading, or even as a small screening room. In short, on the Azimut 68 space is flexible and versatile, and above all multifunctional. The interior styling by the architect Achille Salvagni is delicate and elegant, encouraging total relaxation. Large areas are in pastel tones, with rounded forms for the furniture, making it seem to float in space.

The nighttime zone is on the lower deck and offers four guest cabins and one owner’s suite. The latter is a true chamber of wellbeing, where the washstand area in the bathroom emphasizes the dialogue between rest and fitness. The stone-effect flooring combines perfectly with the soft carpeting around the bed. The on-board style relies on Salvagni’s typical games of contrast, mixing different materials and types of wood: here we see the pale Thai wood with hints of matte mahogany.

It goes without saying that, as always, Azimut has created this model with a strong focus on sustainability: the use of carbon fiber for the superstructures, an efficient hull and pod propulsion significantly reduce fuel consumption.
