Genoa Boat Show: restart in grand style

From 16 to 21 September, the return of the Genoa Boat Show. The 61st edition confirms its collaboration and synergy with the territory and the city, which is ready to welcome the six-day event on excellence in the pleasure boat sector

The 61st iteration of one of the most eagerly awaited events in this sector, both for national and foreign exhibitors and for visitors. The people of Genoa are also looking forward to it, aware of the close relationship between the city, the sea and the local economy. People are also eager to monitor the progress of a project of transformation of one of the most fragile portions of the coastline: the Levante waterfront.

Salone Nautico di Genova

An affiliate of Confindustria Nautica, the Boat Show will take place in the zone of the former fair facility, where work is underway – to be completed in 2023 – for the regeneration of the waterfront, in a project by Renzo Piano. The process reveals a profoundly transformed layout thanks to the demolition of the wall that divided piers C and E, permitting the creation of a single level space, a seamless solution between the blue pavilion and the so-called “nuova darsena.” The available land space will grow by 14%, and the water space by 19%, thanks to the use of new mobile wharfs at the waterfront marina, for yachts up to 100 meters in length, completing the moorings for boats up to 15 meters.

The new display space bolsters the proven multi-specialist format, with updated services developed for the five market segments: Yachts and Superyachts, Sailing World, Boating Discovery, Tech Trade and Living the Sea. Almost a thousand brands are taking part, practically all the top players in the worldwide nautical sector. They include big names like Sanlorenzo, Azimut Benetti, Ferretti, Baglietto, as well as Gruppo Fipa, Amer Yachts, Blugame, Pardo Yachts, Rio Yachts, Princess and Sunseeker. There are also leading companies in the inboard and outboard areas, as well as those specializing in inflatable vessels.

The events

Besides the traditional forum of institutional conferences – organized in collaboration with Confindustria Nautica – with technical seminars and lectures on pertinent themes, the program will feature the 2nd edition of the Design Innovation Award, to honor nautical excellence, with the participation of the athletes who took part in the Tokyo Olympics and the team of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, winner of the Prada Cup and a finalist at the America’s Cup in New Zealand.
