A fascinating historic building at Via Solferino 11 contains the spaces of Dimoregallery, where the duo Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran (alias Dimorestudio) have installed the exhibition “Past, Present, Future”: an immersive path through epochs and movements that have been a constant source of inspiration over time.
In particular, the exhibition is conceptually organized around the dualism of past-future, interpreted by one part on Italian Rationalist design and another part offering a retrospective on the Italian architect and designer Claudio Salocchi.
In a welcoming domestic setting framed by the walls of the gallery, “Past” brings together an amazing selection of works from the 1930s created by Italian architects like Piero Portaluppi, Marcello Piacentini, Piero Bottoni, along with historic or iconic pieces by Ignazio Gardella, Gae Aulenti, Nanda Vigo.
Dimoregallery also draws on the historical archives of De Gournay, the company specialized in the creation of refined handpainted wallpapers, also in collaboration with Bitossi for a selection of 29 ceramic works (coordinated with the opening of Archivio Museo Bitossi).
The work of the Italian architect and designer Claudio Salocchi, a protagonist of the creative ferment of the 1960s and 1970s, is the focus of “Future.” Taking inspiration from Casa Salocchi, the private home of the architect built in the 1970s, and a unique example of modern and avant-garde design from that period, Dimore has chosen pieces made by the designer, which are presented together with some of his decorative objects, and the personal accessories of creative talents.
In the middle there is Present, a digital event with which the duo unveils a new vision of interiors by Dimoremilano.
