The great Cappellini metaphor

Axo in Fabula is the noble, courageous project presented by the company for Milano Design Week, underscoring the unique character of Cappellini – outside the box

It could be the second episode of a series: after Amor Fati, we have Axo in Fabula, where Axo means a colorful salamander with a talent for transformation and regeneration.

It is a symbol of resilience (in a positive sense), a term that Covid has brought into the spotlight, leading to widespread abuse. But in this case it is not being used for a word game: marketing steps aside, to some extent, leaving room for a story told by Cappellini and Elena Salmistraro, in no uncertain terms: socializing, integration, culture, the role of women, minorities and the disadvantaged, pieces of true history that return to add force to the narration.

A story for young and old, set in the showroom (Via Santa Cecilia) of what is perhaps the most colorful company in the worldwide ranks – Cappellini – with the surreal complicity of the imagination of Elena Salmistraro. A cheerful mixture that has temporarily cleared all moorings to the design circus, implementing a real social operation.

Together with Cappellini and Elena Salmistraro, this “fabula” welcomes on board the Cooperativa Alice, Il Laboratorio of Quartoggiaro and Fiori all’Occhiello from Baranzate. Here the rhetoric of beauty cannot enter – in substance, there is little more to say, but plenty to visit. Of course visitors will also see the icons of Cappellini, and the new offerings, perhaps with a different viewpoint. Axo in Fabula and – at least this time – no asinus in cathedra.
