The Komorebi Collection, the new organic wallcoverings by Glamora, transmit a sensation of living in close contact with nature. The line takes its name from “Komorebi,” the Japanese term suggesting the image of “light filtering through the trees,” a vision of peace and energy that adds a new dimension to space. A collection inspired by Japandi atmospheres, the trendy style that blends Scandinavian elegance and Japanese purity, in an approach to living that follows the tenets of biophilia and encourages reconnection with nature.

The sustainability starts with the materials: Komorebi Collection is made on GlamPure, the organic wallcovering, a plant-based surface of high quality, a non-woven fabric in pure European linen and viscose that is strong, hygroscopic, insulating and hypoallergenic, the result of lengthy research conducted by Glamora on totally organic materials.
Sixteen images, from abstract geometry to botanical presences, like finds collected during a walk in the woods, overlaid on material textures of pleasing tactile impact. Inspired by the Japanese technique of Washi paper, Komorebi Collection plays with the layering of natural elements or light patterns, treated like overlapping gauze. Natural wood tones, earth hues and indigo, for the Boro fabrics, create refined juxtapositions. Thanks to a sort of impalpable milky coating of rice starch, the colors blend and soften, enhancing the naturally imperfect GlamPure surface.

The oriental aesthetic accepts the imperfection found in nature, and this has always fascinated me – says Fabrizio Rondini, creative director of Glamora. – In particular, Washi, the technique of handmade paper in the Japanese tradition, has suggested the concept of transparency, overlays of natural fibers but also very light weaves that bring out the heterogeneous texture of GlamPure. The close dialogue between the imprint and the linen material gives rise to a collection of vivid character, in instinctive immersion in an aesthetic paradigm of profound wellbeing.”
